Cornish holidays in St Ives - Why we think you should!
Obviously
we are biased as we are lucky enough to live here all year
round, but we do love to introduce our guests to this part
of Cornwall. We can point you in the direction for whatever
suits you, from walks around the town to taking a train ride
on the lovely St Ives railway line, which links through to
the main line stations.
Whatever
you choose to do, we can guarantee you will NOT be disappointed.
Ideal bed and breakfast accommodation in St Ives
If you
are in search of a beach that has just about everything, then
look no further than your view, the Porthminster Beach has
it all, lovely golden sands which makes for excellent sandcastles
- you know it has just the right amount of texture - wonderful
clear blue water and the beach is cleaned regularly. As to
secret bays, if we tell you of them they won't remain secret,
but then that's the fun of discovering these little coves
and bays for yourself. We might just share a few with you
when you arrive if you wish.

Seaside holidays in Cornwall
In fact
if you start your Cornish holidays in St Ives by train, and avoid all the hassle you will
pass behind Porthminster Beach on what must be one of the
most fantastic short train trips there is. It runs from St
Erth Station to Lelant Saltings, from where it runs alongside
the coast (best to sit on the right hand side for the best
views). Then through the village and along to the mouth of
the estuary, over the dunes where if you are lucky you can
glimpse the coastline towards Trevose Head. The track then
runs through cuttings on the edge of the cliff, amongst high
pine trees around Carbis Bay before pulling into St Ives Station.
Should you choose to arrive by train, just let us know what
time and we will happily meet you with your luggage.
St Ives
is a colourful town, which is why it has attracted tourists
and painters - we have quaint cobbles, narrow streets with
hidden alleyways with a plentiful supply of galleries and
restaurants - enough for you to choose a different one each
day for lunch and dinner. There are all types of restaurants,
several serve fresh fish caught daily, others pizzas and curries,
and of course, don't forget the Pasty.
There
is a lovely walk through St Ives, you can find it on the St
Ives official web site which is very interesting with
lovely viewpoints and certainly well worth the effort. Don't
forget a trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to The
Tate Gallery.
St Ives
is a wonderful place to stay, we are not too far from anywhere,
for instance if you wish to take a day out here are a few
places and distances to give you some ideas:
Eden Project
- 38 miles
Heligan Gardens - 37 miles
Penzance
- 7 miles
Truro - 24 miles
Helston - 14 miles
Lands End - 17 miles
Lizard - 24 miles
Falmouth - 24 miles
As we
like to think, this is the best place to live, you will find
that it is easy to come and stay and enjoy everything it has
to offer, but you will find it harder to leave, and we guarantee
you will want to come back. Remember St Ives is a town for
all seasons, not just the summer, there is something going
on all the time from sailing to eating, from surfing to eating,
just come and enjoy it all - for perfect Cornish holidays in St Ives.
